3 Simple Steps to Enriching Your Orthodox Church School Classroom

As a teacher myself, I often find I adapt ideas for my classroom (in a school setting or my home) from inspiration found from other teachers, parents, and clergy. Many of us gravitate to certain Orthodox blogs and websites specifically for this very reason – inspiration. We aspire to improve ourselves by searching for ways to enrich our spiritual lives as we see what others are doing in their lives and classrooms.

Illumination Learning has gathered together six phenomenal Orthodox speakers to present at their next webinar, “Enriching Our Church School Classrooms,” on March 9, 2013. This webinar provides an opportunity to spark an explosion of ideas for use with your students and children in your classrooms and homes.

Here are three simple steps to joining other parents, teachers, and clergy at the next webinar:

  1. Visit the webinar website to learn more about the speakers, their topics, the schedule, and registration. This webinar is a practical and affordable way to gather together as a community as we learn and talk about ways to educate our youth about their faith. Attendees will be able to hear the speaker talking live as they present their Powerpoint or Keynote presentation on the screen. Everyone will be able to interact with the speaker by typing a question or comment to the speaker via their keyboard. The speakers will be able to interact with the attendees by displaying polls on the screen for attendees to respond to questions as a group. There will also be some giveaways during the webinar for those who are attending live as well as handouts emailed to registered attendees.
  2. Register for the webinar anytime between February 16 and March 8, 2013. Early Bird registration for individual families is $29.99 from February 16 – 23 and $39.99 thereafter. Early Bird registration for a parish group is $200 from February 16 – 23 and $300 thereafter.
  3. Attend the webinar on Saturday, March 9, 2013. This webinar enables a large group of people with expansive distances between them to gather at a conference without the obstacles of travel and the sizable expense that accompanies such conferences. If you will be traveling or waiting somewhere during the time of the webinar, you can listen and watch on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device. You can also let your kids play in the comfort of your own home without disturbing other attendees. This is an exciting opportunity for all of us!

Jennifer Hock

I’m a mom with stories…many, many stories.  Most of these adventures write themselves through the experiences my husband and myself have with our children.  We have four children ranging in age from 6 to 17.  Our youngest three were adopted through our local foster care system.  The majority of our stories originate here through the intricate weavings of family, infertility, attachment, grief, adoption, and the seemingly endless energy of our boys.

My life has taken me on many unexpected journeys but all of these experiences have shaped me.  They have strengthened my faith in God and my relationship with those who are dearest to me – especially with my husband.

As an Orthodox Christian family, stories about religious education, homeschooling, and traditions also find their way into my writings as well.  Join me on this journey as we venture into all too familiar territory as well as the unknown as our family strives to grow closer to God with each step we take along the way.

You can also find me on Illumination Learning which was created to be a hub for finding Orthodox Christian education resources at www.illumination-learning.com
